"What are the Medical Records for ?"
APAMI (Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics) has launched in 1993 as a regional body of IMIA (International Medical Informatics Association), and has been hosting triennual academic conferences. In the conference, more than 100 brilliant papers are presented, of which the recommended ones are invited to submit to high-ranking professional journals such as IJMI and MIM. The conferences' scopes not only general medical informatics, also reflect the nature of healthcare in this region (multi-language, multi-culture, high population density, etc.) Preceding conferences are; Singapore 1994, Sydney 1997, Hong Kong 2000, Seoul 2003, Taipei 2006.
In 2009, Japan Association for Medical Informatics has the honor of hosting this classic conference, and plans to have it with 2500+ attending Japan's national MI conference in Hiroshima. The conference theme is "What are the medical records for?" JAMI sincerely invites contributions and participations to this conference in scope of state-of-the-art medical informatics issues, as well as looking back the true purpose of medical records in peace memorial Hiroshima city.

JAMI prepared USD 1000 each bursary for up to 20 presenters of accepted paper presenters and invited panel presenters. Decisions are made considering the quality of the submission, and country of residence of the applicant.
