Hobbies or favorite things:

1) Any outdoor sports (Heavy exercise as a track athlete in young days made my heart hypertrophy (or sportsman heart). Take proper exercise, not long-time desk work, is MD's recommendation. This is a good reason to escape from the office to go out)

2) Wood-chipping for ofuro (hot tab)

3) Eating cold yogurt in a hot tab

4) Gardening (care of lawn, weeding, vegetable raising, and shiitake mushroom raising)

5) Meditation and relaxing in my garden

6) Music (classical one particularly by Brahms, and jazz piano particularly by Bill Evans)

7) Radio ham (call sign: JK4JWA)


Special ability:

To stage (not for naupliar stages) and sex any copepod species from live samples from the Inland Sea of Japan with naked eyes.
However, this ability is faded recently due to hyperopia (by age?)
