Announcement
The third Hiroshima Workshop |Novel Functional Materials with Multinary Freedoms| will be held in Higashi-Hiroshima city, Japan, November 16-19, 2005, along a series of the Hiroshima Workshop, of which the first and second ones have been held in Hiroshima in 1992 and 2002, respectively. The purpose of this Workshop is to provide a forum for discussion of the latest progress on a broad range of topics related to new functional materials such as novel superconducting and thermoelectric materials, multi-functional materials, and hydrogen-related phenomena. Some of the top experts in these fields will be invited speakers. The number of attendees is limited to about 80. The proceedings of the woekshop will be published in a special issue of Physica B by Elsevier Science.

Topics
„ New functionalities with multinary degrees of freedom
„ Superconductivity in layered and caged compounds
„ Thermoelectric properties of novel compounds
„ Hydrogen-related phenomena in nanostructural materials

Venue
The Workshop will be held in Faculty Club at the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University located 30km east from the center of Hiroshima city.
