We pursue research projects to solve specific problems and develop a comprehensive paradigm of knowledge on the basis of cumulative achievements. We design research projects in the field of integrated arts and sciences, and promote interdisciplinary and comprehensive education and research.

In compliance with gthe spirit of pursuing peaceh stipulated in the Five Guiding Principles of Hiroshima University, we aim to build a discipline of gintegrated arts and sciencesh as the common goal of achieving gpeaceh in a wide range of human activities from civil life to international relations. We design peace studies projects, and promote comprehensive education and research for the purpose of resolving conflicts of all kinds and maintaining peace on earth.

šPromoting a Paradigm Shift in Specialized Fields

All the teaching staff and the students in the Graduate School can promote a paradigm shift in their respective specialized fields of research and pioneer interdisciplinary and comprehensive research by actively returning the achievements of their departments and project groups to the academic circles to which they belong.

In view of its unique mission as an academic institution whose faculty is entrusted with graduate and undergraduate education including liberal arts, we are committed to the development of various fields of research as well as the development of curricula.
