Carbonate Colloquium @Kitakyushu
(Mar. 15-17, 2013)

This year's Carbonate Colloquium was held at a seminar house on the slopes of Mt. Sarakura. It was a place with a great view. Chihara-san immediately gave his presentation.
In the afternoon of the second day, we went on a field trip around Hiraodai. Our guide, Prof. Urata, introduced us to many interesting places.
We also saw tufas and dolines. The limestone of Hiraodai has undergone recrystallization due to thermal metamorphism, which, as a sedimentologist, had not previously interested me, so it was great to be able to see it from a new perspective.
On the final day, Hanzawa-san gave a presentation and was awarded the Best Presentation Award. Congraturations! Thank you to everyone at Kyushu, Kumamoto, and Saga Universities for organizing the event.
