This year's Carbonate Colloquium was held at
a seminar house on the slopes of Mt.
Sarakura. It was a place with a great view.
Chihara-san immediately gave his
presentation. |

|
In the afternoon of the second day, we went
on a field trip around Hiraodai. Our guide,
Prof. Urata, introduced us to many
interesting places. |

 |
|
We also saw tufas and dolines. The limestone
of Hiraodai has undergone recrystallization
due to thermal metamorphism, which, as a
sedimentologist, had not previously
interested me, so it was great to be able to
see it from a new perspective. |

On the final day, Hanzawa-san gave a
presentation and was awarded the Best
Presentation Award. Congraturations! Thank
you to everyone at Kyushu, Kumamoto, and
Saga Universities for organizing the event. |
