GEOBIOCAL investigation @Tohoku and Hokkaido

As part of the GEOBIOCAL project, a joint research project with the Federal University of Paraná, we investigated travertine in Tohoku and Hokkaido. To transport our equipments, the Hiroshima Univ. team travelled by car, and then by ferry from Tsuruga to Akita. First, we investigated Furutobe Hot Spring in Aomori.
Next, we investigated Okuoku Hachikuro Hot Spring in Akita, and then traveled to Hokkaido by ferry.
We investigated Futamata Hot Spring and also visited Showa Shinzan.
On the way back, we took a ferry from Tomakomai to Tsuruga. Afterwards, students from the Federal University of Paraná visited Hiroshima and ate okonomiyaki.
