GEOBIOCAL investigation @Brazil
(Aug. 20-31, 2015)

We visited Brazil for the GEOBIOCAL project, a joint research project with the Federal University of Paraná. First, we investigated Lagoa Vermelha, famous for its microbial dolomite. Dr. Vasconcelos, who produced the results, was also participating.
At night, we returned to the lodging and performed microelectrode measurements. It was a lot of work to bring all the equipment.
Microbial mats found in nearby Brejo do Espinho were also investigated.
Next, we moved to Bonito to investigate the tufa, where we also conducted microelectrode measurements.
In Bonito we visited Gruta do Lago Azul, and on the way back to Rio we visited Corcovado Hill.
