| In order to compile the results of research over the past 10 years on manganese oxides in Sambe Hot Spring into a paper, we conducted a final survey that also served as an excursion. | |

| We also visited the Sambe Azukihara Bureid Forest Museum, where we got a sense of the devastation caused by the mudslides that occurred on Mt. Sambe in the past. | |

| For lunch, of course (?), we had a Sambe burger. | |

| Finally, we took the lift up to Mt. Sambe, my first summit in 10 years. | |
