Shiraishi joined the investigation of
Australian Neoproterozoic strata conducted by Prof.
Kano and Dr. Tsuihiji. First, we
visited Brachina Gorge. There were signs so
it was easy to find. On the right are
stromatolites from the Trezona Formation. |

To the west is the GSSP defining the
base of the Ediacaran, which is the boundary between
the tillite during the snowball Earth and
the subsequent cap carbonates. |
 |
 |
|
Further west, we come to the
Ediacaran-Cambrian boundary, where I'm
standing. Indeed, we can see structures appear to
be burrows in the Cambrian. |
 |
 |
|
We travel to the village of Parachilna to
observe fossils of the Ediacaran fauna. |

During the investigation, we rented a house and
cooked our own meals. |
