| This year's Carbonate Colloquium was held at Teikyo University of Science in Kitasenju. | |

| Five members of the Shiraishi Lab gave presentations: Panday-san, Sasaki-san, Stengel-san, Kito-san, and Kiyohara-san. Kiyohara-san won the Best Presentation Award. Congratulations! | |

| Afterwards, we moved to the Hibiya High School dormitory in Awa Katsuyama for the night, where we were treated to a sumptuous sashimi platter. The next day we went on an excursion to Minami Boso, where we first observed Numa-coral. | |

| We also observed concretions and melange in the Nishizaki Formation, and zeolite veins in the Shirahama Formation. Thank you to everyone who helped organize the event. | |
