New Information

 

1. Registration

The reception desk will be open on Nov. 11 (Sun) from 17:00 to 19:00 in front of Banquet Room (2F) for Welcome Party at Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima and in front of Room Dahlia at International Conference Center Hiroshima on Nov. 12-14 from 9:00 to 17:00 and on Nov. 15 from 9:00 to 11:00. You will receive an abstract book and your name tag there. On-site registration is available at the reception desk.

 

2. Location and Access

2.1 Conference Site

The conference will be held at Room Dahlia, the International Conference Center Hiroshima in Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima.

From the Hiroshima International Airport:

Take a limousine bus to JR Hiroshima Station (North Entrance) (50 min). Walk to the South entrance of the station and take a bus or a tram car.

 

From the South Entrance of JR Hiroshima Station:

Bus (20min): Take Hiroshima Bus No.24 at the bus platform A-3. Get out at gHeiwa-Kohen (Peace Memorial Park) h bus stop.

Tram car (20min): Take car No. 1 (Ujina-yuki). Get out at hFukuro-Machih stop. Five minutes walk from the stop.

 

2.2 Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima and Comfort Hotel Hiroshima

From the South Entrance of JR Hiroshima Station:

Tram car (20min): Take Car No. 1 (Ujina-yuki). Get out at gHiroden-Maeh stop (next to gFukuro-machih stop).  A few minutes walk from the stop.

 

 

3. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

No breakfast, lunch and dinner are served by the organizers of ICMS2007.

The participants are suggested to take lunch at the restaurant next to the conference room or the restaurants near the conference center.

 

4. Welcome Party - Nov. 11 (Sun.)

All the participants are welcomed to Welcome Party which will be held at Banquet Room (2F) of Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima from 17:30 to 19:00. Small amount of drinks and hors dfoeuvres will be served.

 

5. Banquet - Nov. 14 (Wed.)

Conference Banquet will be held at Banquet Room (2F) of Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima from 18:30 to 20:00. (On-site entry is available at the reception desk.)

 

6. Excursion -Nov. 15 (Thu.)

We will visit Miyajima Island, one of the three most beautiful sceneries in Japan, by bus. The bus to Miyajima will leave from the front of International Conference Center Hiroshima at 12:30. A lunch box will be served on the bus. The bus will return back to Hiroshima at about 17:30. It will stop at Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima and JR Hiroshima Station. (No on-site entry is accepted.)

 

7. Wireless LAN Internet

  A wireless LAN internet is freely available around a reception desk in front of the conference room (Room Dahlia) during Nov. 12 - 15. You should prepare a computer equipped with a wireless LAN adapter card by yourself. The web key for the wireless LAN is provided at the reception desk.

. Currency Exchange

Information on Japanese local banks which accept currency exchange is provided at the reception desk of Welcome Party (Banquet Room, 2F) in Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima in Nov. 11 and at the desk in front of the conference room (Room Dahlia) during Nov. 12 - 15. Major object currencies are US dollars and Euros.

 

9. Accompanying Personsf Program - Nov. 12 (Mon.) and 13 (Tue.)

Two guided tours have been arranged. Transportation fares, entrance fee and others will be paid by each and all, when necessary.

 

9.1 November 12 (Mon.): Sightseeing in Hiroshima using public transportation.

9.2 November 13 (Tue): Sightseeing in Onomichi using public transportation. Onomichi is a beautiful city facing to Seto Inland Sea. There are many old temples and other places to visit (http://www.city.onomichi.hiroshima.jp/english/en_index.html).

10. Guidance for Presentation

10.1 Oral Sessions

Oral sessions will start at 9:00, except on Monday.  Lectures will be 25 minutes talk plus 5 minutes discussion for Invited speakers, and 15 minutes talk plus 5 minutes discussion for Regular speakers.  An LCD projector (1024 x 768 screen resolution at 24 bit color depth) will be available.  Speakers may use the supplied PC (Dell Inspiron 1300, Celeron M 1.4 GHz, 1.0 GB RAM, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, USB 2.0) running PowerPoint 2003 and Windows Media Player V. 9.0 under Windows XP Professional SP2 (Japanese Version).  A 15-pin mini D-Sub connector cable will be also available to connect presentersf own laptop.  Speakers can test their presentation at the Reception Desk in advance of their talk, but are requested to load their PowerPoint presentation onto the PC in the Session Room prior to the start of their oral session.  All speakers should ensure that they keep strictly to the allotted time for their talk.

 

10.2 Poster Sessions

Poster sessions will be held on Tuesday (Session I) and Wednesday (Session II) from 14:00 to 15:40.  Presenters are responsible for mounting their material prior to the opening of their poster session.  Poster boards will be available from 10:40 on the day of each poster session.  The board size is 2.1 m high and 0.9 m wide, and push pins will be provided by the Committee.  Posters should be removed by 18:30 on the day of respective poster sessions.  The Committee cannot be held responsible for materials left behind at 18:30.

 

11. Proceedings

There are no conference proceedings. Several selected papers presented at ICMS2007 will be published in the special issue of gScience and Technology of Advanced Materialsh after peer-review.
