The featured articles introduce the study\u2019s finding that researcher independence does not begin or end with the completion of a PhD. Instead, it develops over time through relationships, institutional contexts, and professional experiences. eurekalert<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study used a \u2018river of experience\u2019 method, in which researchers depicted their careers as rivers. This approach made it possible to visualise researcher development as a non-linear and agentive process. eurekalert<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
