Problem

1.        fishing boat and engine ( some sank down some out of work)

2.        fishing gear lost (such fish gill net, shrimp trammel net, crab trap, shallow water set net)

3.        destruction of fish cage culture and lost rearing fishes

4.        low fish catches and including low demand of fishes in the market lead to decrease fish price

Initial aids need

1.        need amount of funds to repair fishing boat and engine and include buying new set of fishing gear units

2.        need fund to re-invest in fish cage culture

3.        promote increase of fish catch demand in market

Department of Fisheries (DOF) aids scheme

1.        survey and record numbers of fishers who are facing the impact of this disaster by verifying with DOF database of number of fishers’ registration.

2.        give first priority to fishers who have made boat registration with DOF based on the database would be considered to get aid scheme, but the amount of aids that fishers lost did not assign yet.

3.        fish cage culture fish-farmer may get maximum amount of aids about 12,000-20,000 baht per fisher (final decision)
