We have successfully hosted 4th International Symposium of the Network-type Joint Usage/Research Center for Radiation Disaster Medical Science on 12 February 2020 at the Kojin-kaikan Conference Hall in the Kasumi campus of Hiroshima University with the theme “How can we communicate possible health effects in radiological emergency?“.

19th International Conference on Solid State Dosimetry (SSD19) was held

We hosted the 19th International Conferecne on Solid State Dosimetry (SSD19) (President: Prof. Hiroshi Yasuda) which was held at International Conference Center Hiroshima City 15-20 September 2019. About 350 participants from 45 countries participated in this Conference and more than 300 presentations including 9 invited talks were made there.

7th Marko Moscovitch School (SSD Summer School) was held

We hosted the 7th Marko Moscovitch School (SSD Summer School) which was held in the Kasumi campus of Hiroshima University on 11-14 September 2019. In this School, 15 world-class lecturers gave state-of-the-art knowledge & skills to more than 50 students.

Made presentation at the IAEA Symposium IDOS2019

Prof. Yasuda made a presentation entitled “Radiation protection dosimetry of medical workers using their fingernails” at the IAEA Symposium “International Symposium on Standards, Applications and Quality Assurance in Medical Radiation Dosimetry (IDOS 2019)” which was held in Vienna on 18-21 June 2019. It was selected as a highlighted presentation in the Radiation Protection session.

Prof. Yasuda was invited by Harapan Bersama Politeknik (University) in Tegal City, Indonesia and gave a keynote lecture on 7 November 2018 to about 1,000 audience about the lessons learned from past radiation accidents.

Gave a talk at the IAEA symposium on communication

Prof. Yasuda gave a talk entitled “Effective communication without using effective dose” at the IAEA Symposium on “Communicating Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies to the Public” which was held at IAEA Headquaters in Vienna on 1-5 October 2018.

Established an agreement with Soochow University

On 24 April 2018, the Research Institute for Radiation Biology and Medicine (RIRBM), Hiroshima University, concluded an agreement on a scientific and educational collaboration with the Soochow University (蘇州大学) in China. The two institutions will work together to promote scientific research and also to improve education programs in those common fields, sharing their extensive experiences.

Established an agreement with FMBC
