If you want to make changes in geogrid output and ensure they are not overwritten in real, you will need to set <em>surface_input_source<\/em> to <strong>3<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip 2  &gt;  <br>need to change the <em>LU_INDEX<\/em> of geo_em_dxx.nc file inside a polygon, or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip 3 &gt;  <br>modify&nbsp;the original USGS data file from the geog folder in WRF <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip 4 &gt; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> change <em>LU_INDEX<\/em> for a specific grid point in <strong>geo_em<\/strong> file using the command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&gt;ncap2 -s &#8216;LU_INDEX(0,96,188)=13&#8217; geo_em.d01.nc geo_em.d01.nc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, check <strong>met_em*<\/strong> files if the above change passes through these files without any problem. Then, check <strong><g class=\"gr_ gr_8 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"8\" data-gr-id=\"8\">wrfinput_xxx<\/g><\/strong> file from real.exe, if the <em>LU_INDEX<\/em> is changed or not. If the <em>LU_INDEX<\/em> in <strong><g class=\"gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"7\" data-gr-id=\"7\">wrfinput_xxx<\/g><\/strong> file is not changed, then the problem occurs in <g class=\"gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling\" id=\"6\" data-gr-id=\"6\">namelist<\/g> setup.
