MPK4 -

MPK4 に言及した解説:  「ジャスモン酸類の機能とシグナル伝達」 関本、太田両博士による解説 「新版 植物ホルモンのシグナル伝達」196ページに、「MPK4 はジャスモン酸情報伝達に関与していると考えられる MAPK で、mpk4 ではジャスモン酸の作用がおきにくくなる。またサリチル酸の含量が増大する」ということが書かれている。

理研の白須博士のグループが、 Ichimura, K., Casais, C., Peck, S.C., Shinozaki, K. and Shirasu, K. MEKK1 is required for MPK4 activation and regulates tissue specific and temperature dependent cell death in Arabidopsis. J. Biol. Chem. (2006) 281:36969-36976. PubMed PDF という論文を発表されている。

という論文では、細胞外多糖類の一種であるカロースが MAP Kinase の一種である MPK4 が破壊された変異体で蓄積することが言及されている。酵母での細胞表層と MPK1 の関係のように、シロイヌナズナでは細胞表層と MPK4 に関連があるのかもしれない。植物では、その関連が、病原菌応答とオーバーラップしているのかもしれない。単純に推測すると、「病原菌感染、細胞壁合成阻害などのストレスによってシロイヌナズナの細胞表層が不安定化すると、MPK4 が失活してカロースが増える」ということになる。
