Glocal Leadership & Cooperation with Industries, Public Offices, Local Schools

In "Glocal Internship", which is an international experiential learning, international students learn to connect academic learning with actual practices in their collaboration with Japanese society. There are two parts:

  1. Glocal Internship I : Intercultural Competence in Japanese Society
  2. Glocal Internship II: Intercultural Practicum to Work with Local Japan

グローカル・インターンシップ I :日本社会における異文化間能力 Glocal Internship I – Intercultural Competence in Japanese Society

Course Syllabus

授業概要 (Course Outline)

  • 広島大学短期交換留学プログラム（HUSA）留学生を対象とする。This course is offered for HUSA Program students．
  • 日本社会の慣習や行動様式,日本社会の組織における関係性や関わり方について実社会を実例として学ぶ。Acquire the knowledge of Japanese customs and behavioral code, how relationships work in Japanese organizations　through actual association with real society..
  • 日本社会において地域と連携する力・リーダーシップ力・主体的に行動する力を習得する。Acquire knowledge and competency to connect yourself with local society in Japan, develop leadership skills, and take initiatives and take actions.
  • 官公庁・企業から講師を招聘して仕事・キャリアについて講話を聞き, アクティブ・ラーニングで主体的に考える力をつける。
    Students attend the lectures of government officials and entrepreneurs, and learn to take initiatives through active leaning.

達成目標と学習成果（Course Objective and Learning Outcome）

  1. 日本社会の組織内や組織間の関係性・内と外の概念について実社会と関連づけて学ぶ。 Acquire knowledge on how relationships and uchi/soto (inside/outside) function in Japanese organizations by connecting it to the actual scenes
  2. 日本社会で就労する際の規則、マナー、礼儀等を学び、実践演習を行い、地域行政・地域団体と協力して行う実習に備える。
    Students learn basic manners and courtesy in Japan as preparation for the practicum where students work with local administration offices, local organizations, and other public organizations.
  3. グループ・ディスカッションに挑戦し、理論的思考力とコミュニケーション能力を試す。 Students challenge group discussion and develop logical thinking and communication skills.
  4. 「社会体験者講話」をもとにPBL（Problem-based Learning, 課題発見解決型学習）協働学習に挑戦し、思考力とプレゼンテーション能力を高める。多国籍チームでの協働について学ぶ。
    Based upon the lectures of people with career, students work on the PBL (Problem-based Learning) project, and develop analytical and presentation skills, and learn how to work in culturally diverse teams.
  5. 実社会で働いている社会人に対し、説得力のあるプレゼンテーション能力をつける。
    Develop presentation skills so that students can present their ideas to working people.

*「グローカル・インターンシップI：キャリア理論と実践」を同時に受講していること。 Students are required to take "Glocal Internship I: Career Theory & Practice" simultaneously.

*「学生主導型のプロジェクト型インターンシップ」である。積極的に地域社会と連携した「国際交流プロジェクト」を多国籍の留学生が協力して企画・実行を行うものである。多国籍の留学生が参加することを奨励する。
This is a student-centered project type internship. Culturally diverse international students are expected to cooperate with local society in Japan and carry out the international exchange project. Participation of students from various cultures is encouraged.

  1. 日本語能力・日本社会の理論的理解を実践に生かす
  • 上級レベルの日本語能力を習得し、多様な文化的背景を持つ交換留学生インターンが、留学生の知見と日本語能力を日本の実社会で生かす。公的な場での行動を身に着ける。
  • 地域の人々と協働で企画・立案・実行する実習により、日本の地域社会において、外国人住民が地方自治体・地域学校・地域社会とつながり、多文化 共生を実現する方策について考える場を持つ。これは外国人としての自助支援にもつながる。
  • 地域社会・地域学校・地域住民と協働し、異文化理解力の向上や異文化コミュニケーション力の育成について、実習を通じて考察する。
  • 「グローカルインターンシップ：キャリア理論と実践」 (“Glocal Internship I: Career Theory and Practice”)を通じて得た知識を実践で生かし、官公庁・教育機関・地域社会の人々と仕事をし、学術知と実践知を融合した実践的学びを目指す。
  • 社会人と接し、日本語・日本社会・グローバル社会・キャリアについての理論的理解を実践と結びつけ、大学教育と将来のキャリアとを関連付ける。
  1. 文化多様性を背景に持つ多国籍のHUSAインターンがチームワークとリーダーシップを発揮し、地域社会においてプロジェクトを企画・実践・マネージメントする力をつける
  • 学生が主体となり地域再生・地域活性化に貢献するアクティブ・ラーニングを体験する。
  • 責任ある「仕事」を行うための企画・立案・準備・実行の全過程を体験する。
