Employement Records
As a professor on food production management, I work for the Graduate School of Biosphere Science, Hiroshima University. My duty is giving lectures on theories of agriculture and fisheries economics, frameworks of coastal resource management, and community development. My recent research focuses mainly on participatory and community-based approach to sustainable coastal resource management, development policy for coastal fisheries, and multi-functionality of fisheries and fishing communities.
Position: Expert on Fisheries Socio-economics
I was dispatched to Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) as JICA'son Fisheries Socio-economics. I was responsible for making a project plan of community-based coastal resource management project and implementing it together with the counterparts of the Department of Fisheries in Thailand. Lessons and technologies gained through the implementation of this collaborative project were transferred to other member countries of the ASEAN.
Position: Associate Professor on Marine Social Science
As an associate professor on International Marine Social Science, I worked for the Faculty of Fisheries, Kagoshima University (state university). I was responsible for giving lectures on theory of fisheries development, framework of fisheries management, international trade of fisheries products, and so on. I conducted researches on community-based approaches to coastal fisheries management, marketing system of fisheries products. The research activities were conducted both in Japan and Southeast Asia.
Position: Instructor on Asian Political Economy
As a lecturer on Asian Political Economy, I belonged to the Department of Asian Studies, Hiroshima University (state university). I planed and organized the theoretical frameworks of development economy, agricultural economics, and socioeconomic changes in rural communities.
Position: Expert on Fisheries Economics
Under the direction of JICA, I worked for the Trainning Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) as an expert of fisheries economics. I undertook the researching activities mainly in Thailand.
