Mr. Zarif Aminov and Mr. Vongdala Noudeng Successfully Obtained PhD Degrees – March 2025

We are delighted to announce that in March 2025, two doctoral students from Xuan Lab have successfully completed their Ph.D. programs: Mr. Vongdala Noudeng from Laos and Mr. Zarif Aminov from Uzbekistan. Throughout their academic journey, both scholars demonstrated remarkable dedication and made significant contributions to scientific research, resulting in several high-quality publications.

Mr. Vongdala and Mr. Zarif were recipients of the prestigious JDS scholarship. Mr. Vongdala focused his research on municipal solid waste management and environmental pollution, addressing critical challenges in sustainability and public health. Meanwhile, Mr. Zarif specialized in the field of renewable energy, showcasing deep expertise and innovative approaches in energy systems.

Dr. LA Hoang Anh has made an honorable transition to another institution

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and best wishes to Dr. La Hoang Anh, who will soon be moving to Sophia Agrobiotech Institute (ISA), INRAE, Université Côte d’Azur, CNRS, France, to continue his outstanding academic journey. Dr. Anh has been an invaluable member of our laboratory, contributing not only through his impressive research achievements but also through his unwavering support and mentorship of our students. With over 30 published academic articles, Dr. Anh has established himself as a leading researcher in the field of natural products, with particular expertise in allelochemicals, anti-chronic disease agents, and anti-blood cancer agents. His work has opened new pathways in natural compound research with applications in health and agriculture.

Beyond his research, Dr. Anh has played a crucial role as a sub-supervisor, guiding numerous master’s and Ph.D. students with dedication and kindness. His thoughtful advice, technical expertise, and tireless encouragement have been deeply appreciated by all members of our lab. It is also worth highlighting that Dr. Anh’s excellence has been recognized through two consecutive Excellent Student Awards from Hiroshima University, reflecting his exceptional talent and hard work.


Although we are sad to see Dr. Anh leave our laboratory, we are excited to follow his future successes and are confident that he will continue to make significant contributions to his field.
