Surrounded by good food and easy conversation, we enjoyed a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where we could truly connect and celebrate this new beginning together. We’re excited to work side by side, inspire one another, and grow together through the research ahead.





On April 7, 2024, Xuan Lab organized a welcome party to greet new members. In the spring semester 2024, our lab is delighted to welcome two new students, Mr. Ngo Duy Dong (Ph.D. course) from Vietnam, and Mr. James Kibuye (Master’s course) from Kenya.
Furthermore, from this semester, we are pleased to announce the new positions of our lab members, Dr. Nguyen Van Quan and Dr. Nguyen Van Thinh have been appointed as Assistant Professors. Additionally, Dr. Tran Thien Long has been engaged in our lab as Postdoctoral Researcher.

We, Xuan LAB members, are pleased to announce that two outstanding studies have been published on Q1 journals, International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Agronomy.
The first paper entitled “Potential Hepatotoxins Found in Herbal Medicinal
Products: A Systematic Review” is on the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IF=4.556).

As part of regular research activities, our laboratory members cleaned grasses around the experimental rice field and transplanted rice seedlings. It’s a great learning and practical experience of group work that everyone shares in this laboratory.



A delegation of Vietnamese scientists and researchers from Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS) visited and joined the seminar in our Laboratory on 22nd March 2019. On behalf of Xuan lab, Ms Troung Mai Van presented an introduction about Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry. Thereafter, the guests presented their presentations and scope of studies. The open discussion among students and VASS researchers was then held for 30 minutes. Topics involved in rice breeding, mutation technologies and environmental stresses on rice production.
From 30th October to 2nd December, AGI pays a visit to our Laboratory, leads by Dr Khuat Huu Trung, Vice General Director, and associated members. Collaborated research with AGI will be discussed. Several staffs of AGI (Mrs Nguyen Thanh Quan, Nguyen Phu Toan, La Hoang Anh; Miss Can Thu Huong) have currently been studying in our Laboratory. Please join to the International Seminar organized on November 1st, 9.30 am, room 201, IDEC.
In November 11th from 2 pm, representatives of AGI (Agricultural Genetics Institute) will have an honorable meeting with the Dean of IDEC, Prof. Baba.
From next week, our Lab needs to harvest the rice as well as clean up the paddy fields. All member should participate in this activity of our Laboratory.
