この度,キャンパス内を走行しております「自動運転シャトル(HIROMOBI)」の安全評価のため,カメラ,及び,LiDAR(Light Detection and Rangingの略.レーザー光を照射することで、対象物までの距離を計測するための光センサー技術)を活用したデータ分析の実証実験を行います.





“Safety Evaluation of Autonomous Shuttle in Pedestrian Spaces”

 In order to evaluate the safety of the autonomous shuttle (HIROMOBI) running on campus, we conduct an experiment using a camera and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging, an optical sensor technology to measure the distance to an object by irradiating laser light). The data obtained will be used as basic data for studying the next-generation transportation environment.
The equipment will be installed on the third-floor balcony in the northwest part of the main building, and data will be acquired from August 2021 until the end of the autonomous shuttle (HIROMOBI) experiment. The acquired camera and LiDAR data will be used in a confidential manner by using object recognition algorithms and collapsing the information into location information and label information (human, bicycle, vehicle). The acquired data will not be used to identify individuals. The acquired data will be used only by the members of the experiment of the “Autonomous Shuttle (HIROMOBI)” and will not be provided to any third party.
